1. First Kids
Start your First Night activities at FirstKids, sponsored by Northside Christian School and Baywalk. Make a fabulous New Year's hat with artist Sherri Lundquist and crew, or a New Year's Eve mask. Enjoy the Musical Petting Zoo with the 2nd Time Arounders Band, the Smuppets theater, magician Anthony Jones, young singing artist Ella Jet, and the dancing of the 4-H Ballroom Dancing Bicycle Brigade. Help decorate a grocery cart and join the procession to the Bubble Stomp at 8 PM.
Kick Up Your Heels
Learn to Cajun dance with Jerry Carrier. He will get the audience ready to kick up their heels to the authentic Cajun music of the Berard Naquin Band, performing later on the Finale Stage.
Aleshea Harris
Aleshea performs her musical and spoken word compositions. Her writing and singing talent is always a stirring meditation and an electrifying performance.
Ring in the New Year
The Lutheran Church of the Cross Bell Choir performs.
First Night Dance Party
Dance your way into the New Year with the Shawn Brown Band. This rhythmic and soulful R&B band will provide the beat to welcome 2010.
2. Celebrate with Spectres
Expert ghost guides from Ghost Tours of St. Petersburg bring out the city's historic haunted past in a one block walk leaving every 20 minutes.
3. Rick Nay
Rick will play seasonal favorites and some classics on the world's largest 3 manual organ. The organ combines 1926 Austin pipes with the modern digital sounds of an Allen organ console.
Nate Najar
Nate is one of the few guitarists who play jazz on the classical guitar, leading this trio with swinging jazz sounds, blues, and Brazilian styles.
4. Balloon Festival with the Balloon Guy /Hodaddys
Nationally famous balloon artist Mark Byrne will make his amazing balloon creations on a first-come, first-served basis. You can learn to tie your own balloon creations, and put your New Year's resolution inside a balloon on the Resolution Wall, all to the surfin' sounds of the Hodaddys on stage.

6. Arioso String Quartet/St. Petersburg Opera Company
This quartet is made up of Florida Orchestra musicians and will alternate with the St. Petersburg Opera Company, singing selections from Mozart's Cosi Fan Tutti, opening at the Palladium in January.
7. Shake That Thing
This busy section of Central Ave. will be closed to provide space for the lighted Hula Hoops of the Hoolamonster troupe. Make it your resolution to learn a new skill for the New Year.
8. First Night Powwow
In this presentation of Native American powwow dancing, each dancer has regalia indicative of either southern or northern styles of dress, representing tribes from throughout the country, including Montana, Minnesota, Iowa, New York and Oklahoma. Dance demonstrations will show an array of styles of dress and types of dances. A display area will be available to get a close-up look and to ask questions about items made and still used today by Woodland and Plains people.
Egg on Your Face
Make a Fried Egg Mask with the Dali Museum, relating to why Dalí painted eggs in his works.
9. David Glukh Klezmer Band
Julliard trained klezmer artist David Glukh leads one of the most unusual groups of its kind. Eclectic by repertoire and design, this ensemble performed worldwide to a critical acclaim. Their performances include traditional klezmer music along with special "fusions" between klezmer and other musical traditions of the world.
10. Bubble Blast
Great Explorations continues its exploration of bubble possibilities at the Bubble Blast. Make your own bubble maker and amazing bubbles.

11. Waterfront Parks Centennial History Treasure Hunt
Begin at the Centennial booth in South Straub Park, sponsored by Progress Energy. Participants will be given a treasure map featuring five landmarks with GPS coordinates. As the treasure hunters find each landmark, they will be awarded a strand of beads … a different color for each landmark. After collecting all five strands of beads, participants will return to the main booth to collect a special prize with the Centennial medallion.
12. Labyrinth of Alternative Energy
This interactive experience presented by the Pier explores the ways we can help the planet.
13. Tattoo Parlor
Get a temporary tattoo of this year's First Night artwork. Past years' designs are available too.
14. Dundu Dole
High energy and colorful costumes are part of the appeal one of our area's premier dance companies. A First Night must see!

15. Get into the Rhythm
The Tampa Bay Steel Orchestra featuring nationally acclaimed jazz performer Fred Johnson. These seven outstanding musicians get rave reviews for their traditional Caribbean rhythms mixed up with unique renderings of classical and popular hits. Fred is a graduate of the National Academy of Performing Arts and the Master Performers School of the National Mime Theater who has toured and recorded with many jazz legends.
16. Off the Wall
Artist Thaddeus Root projects images from the Museum of Fine Arts on the large north wall of the Museum.
17. Up in Smoke
Send up those old regrets and bad habits in the Resolution Bonfire, and wishes for the New Year into the wild blue yonder.
18. Will the Circle Be Unbroken
The community drumming circle, directed by Jana Broder, will teach you how to drum with 75 other people in a constantly changing group.
19. Berard/Naquin
Grammy nominee, fiddler and guitarist Al Berard, teams with New Orleans Bourbon Street music veteran, accordionist Sammy Naquin, performing the best of Louisiana’s special blend of Cajun and Zydeco music. The band features fiddles, accordion, and guitars with a full rhythm section. Berard and Naquin are both Cajun natives and residents of the bayou region of Southwest Louisiana, heartland of Louisiana’s French music.

Who says you can’t ice skate in Florida? Get ready for the Winter Olympics and glide into the New Year on a realistic ice skating rink! BYOS (Bring Your Own Socks) or purchase some for $1.

Art Sampler
On the third floor of the Pier, the Creative Clay Performance Collective will present dance, drumming, theater and interactive art making opportunities. The Royal Theatre brings their Senior Conservatory students to perform ballet, modern and jazz dance, along with the 2009 Walkers Raising Star winners and spoken word students.
25. Start the New Year with a Bang!
First Night starts and ends with our biggest ever fireworks exhibition! Beginning at 8:00 PM, each hour will be counted down with explosions, with First Fireworks at 9:00 and the Fireworks Finale at Midnight. First Fireworks is sponsored by Creative Pyrotechnics of Orlando and the Countdown is sponsored by Beach Drive Retail.
